EveryTrail is a site that allows people to post images of their trips via GPS devices. This is one walk I wish I was taking right now.

Graduate School...in three minutes?
After being inspired by several stop motion photographic documentations (like this one) I urged some of my peers to think about pulling together all the shots which have accumulated throughout our graduate school journey. Leave it to Alberto Rigau to accept the challenge and produce the first rough of what will soon become a treasured artifact I will keep forever.

Rough bits of our graduate years at NC State 2007-2009. Compiled by Alberto Rigau. This is a work in progress, final to be updated soon (after May reviews).

Portfolio site is a go!
May is quickly approaching and soon I will be faced with the next chapter of my life...life after graduate school. My list of what I wish to do continues to lengthen daily, but the ultimate goal is to continue exploring interaction, collaborate with others, and educate in some form...plus sew and maintain SOWN Designs. My first step to reaching any of these goals was to once and for all get my professional portfolio online. It was a tedious endeavor and I am happy to know I will never have to do it again (except for updates). It was close to what I would imagine seeing my life fly before me as it has been a little more than over ten years since I have been designing professionally. I did come across one project that did not make it into my portfolio but it is appropriate to share here. It is my first internationally produced and distributed project...the millennium Twinkies packaging. I worked on it as an intern at Willoughby Design, Kansas City in 1999.

A designer and his button maker...
My classmate and friend, Alberto Rigau, recently purchased a button maker. Needless to say, he has inflicted the studio with button madness. It has been fun to see what he comes up with next. This week he received some PR on the "Crit Face" collection.

A post about the buttons and a nice mention of SOWN

I finally found time to make these....

My friend Jeff bought a box of old seed sacks off Ebay years ago. When I was in KC we had made (well I made, he art directed) some curtains and pillows for a photo shoot. The left over seed sacks just happened to move with me. I used those and remnants I purchased online from a store in LA...this is something I have been wanting to get to making for quite some time.
